Guide to Good Garden Watering - New Version

Now redesigned! This 4-page publication is a valuable reference for home gardeners and provides basic information about watering home gardens by hand held hose or with an irrigation system. It shows how soil type and planting scheme affects water requirements and how to alter these to reduce your watering needs. It also looks at how to calculate how much water to apply to your garden and how often to apply it. This publication has been produced to provide a consistent set of introductory guidelines to garden irrigation that can be applied by any home gardener in Australia.

Hard copies of the brochure are available on request from the IAL office.  Organisations that would like to add their logo to the brochure and distribute multiple copies can obtain a high resolution, print ready version of it from Helen Moody -  hmoody@aapt.net.au or phone (02) 94209919.  Organisations that would like to make small editorial adjustments to reflect regional conditions or meet specific purposes should discuss this with IAL and must seek approval for editorial changes.  Contact Helen Moody.

Smarter Water Conservation Campaign

Smarter Water Conservation is a campaign of Irrigation Australia, supported by its members – HR Products, Hunter Industries, Nelson Australia, Philmac, Rain Bird Australia and Toro Australia.

The IAL has been campaigning to encourage the development of science based water conservation programmes for major metropolitan cities. Current restrictions have little focus on actual use and lead to less than optimal savings, damage to green open space and severely impact the capacity to introduce best practice and innovation.
This material has made available to politicians and the media. You can download a copy at left.
