What’s happening in the Scientist’s Garden?

2010 AGM
IAL's Annual General Meeting will again be held by teleconference in 2010.
DATE: Tuesday 9th November 2010
TIM : 3:30pm AEDST. We have chosen this time so that a Regional event can be held in a location close to each member so they can be available to attend the teleconference.
More information on locations for the teleconference in your area will be sent to members once final arrangements have been made with Regional representatives.
BOARD ELECTIONS 2010

Our 2011 Conference will be held in Launceston Tasmania at the Country Club Tasmania from 22-25 August 2011

Irrigation Australia Conference & Exhibition 2012
The 2012 Conference will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 24-29 June 2012
This will be the single largest Irrigation Event ever staged in Australia as it will be combined with

Course Facilitators Needed
So that IAL can assist the industy meet the increasing demand for training, we are seeking expressions of interest from experienced irrigation professionals who also hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Trainers are required to deliver units of competency from the AHCLM Training Package, along with IAL ‘in house’ courses such as Irrigation Efficiency, Rural Metering as well as provide assistance in the RPL process and mentoring of prospective students. Certified Irrigation Retailer
IAL, with the support of Advanced Industrial Products, Davey, Grundfos, HR Products, Iplex, Philmac, Toro and Vinidex, will be running the popular Certified Irrigation Retailer course again this year. Certified Meter Installers - Rural Meter Installation Certification
We currently have limited places left on a Rural Meter Installer course being held in Moree on 13 & 14 September
Prices are Members $780 Non Members $900 This includes the Certification fee for 2 years.
This 2-day course provides certification for meter installers and is aimed at people who will be responsible for installing and validating water meters in a rural environment against Australian Standards.

New ICID Vice-President
Willem Vlotman, representing IAL at the New Delhi Conference, has been elected as a Vice-President of the International Commission of Irrigation and Drainage (ICID). IAL congratulates Willem on this achievement which will enhance IAL's relationship with ICID.

MacLean-Iedema Award 2010
The irrigation industry has honoured Mooroopna's Ken Sampson, who passed away late last year, with the prestigious MacLean-Iedema Award, given every second year by Irrigation Australia to someone who has contributed significantly during a long period.
